Nasi Kandaq Fest 3.0 is taking over Datum Jelatek Shopping Centre on 29–30 November (10am-10pm), and the lineup this year? Serious business, boss! We’re bringing together 9 nasi kandar lejens from Penang, KL and Johor — semua heavy hitters, all fan favourites, Gerenti “Surrrrrr!”

This year is extra special because we’re also partnering with Datum Jelatek Shopping Centre to celebrate their 3rd Anniversary. Honestly, is there a more delicious way for a mall to celebrate? Doubt it.

DEENS MAJU – The Jalan Gurdwara queue monsterAyam goreng that hits the soul, lauk fresh panas berwap, and kuah campur that creates traffic-light-length queues. Tapi this time, tak payah pi Penang. Penang mai sini. Deens are also introducing their Lamb Shank in this fest.

HAMEEDIYAH – Since 1907, the oldest lejen of them allSeven generations, hand-ground rempah, ayam bawang that literally set the standard nationwide. Even British officers dulu fell so in love with the nasi kandaq that they issued a special permit. Yerp! History you can makan.

KUDU – KL’s icon since 1969. Hati goreng that slaps, daging hitam pekat, ayam bawang juicy — all served Jalan TAR OG style. If KL had a nasi kandar hall of fame, Kudu would be on the first wall.

LC (Line Clear) Kampung Baru – Penang soul, KL style. Run by Zainul & Faisal, holding tightly to old-school Penang recipes. They say theirs are the original. Highlight! Festival-only tengkuk kambing, kuah campur classic, ayam goreng crunchy. The tengkuk kambing is a must try as they say its better than lamb shank. One way to find out!

PELITA CHAI LENG PARK – Where the Pelita empire was born.This is the OG outlet. The ayam goreng here? The literal DNA of Pelita Malaysia. Crispy-hot and fragrant enough that you’ll detect it with your eyes closed. Joki coming down from Chai Leng Park to serve you crazy peminat nasi kandaq semua so that kuah campoq semua on point tau!

NASI KANDAQ TALAM – Johor’s rising powerhouse. Sotong masala padu, bawang goreng hujan lebat, served atas talam — visual and flavour win. The JB rep is coming in strong. Helmed by Adam.

NASI KANDAR KAMPUNG MELAYU – Penang’s heart & soul. Yet another humble yet huge powerhouse in Penang, NKKM has lighter kuah kari (we like), and we alsways hit the sotong & bawal. Kat tempat depa, kena datang awal. If not, sold out dulu! Even Mark Wiens gave his blessing to NKKM. Note : NKKM hadir SATU HARI SHJ YA. On Saturday from 4pm onwards. Why? They insist to bring their lauk fresh from Penang and drive down the same day.

IBRAMSHA – KL classic since 1972. Ayam hitam, daging hitam, telur dadar — regulars swear by this Ibramsha’s secret weapon. Recently moved to Shah Alam but the loyal fans followed.

NASI KANDAR POKOK KETAPANG (Jamal Mohamed) – The bawah pokok legend. A Seberang Perai icon. Ayam bawang that ruins diets, kari perut kambing that’s rare, daging hitam that’s cult status. Rustic, smoky, nostalgia-packed. Night time favourite haunt for hunters!
