Roti Canai Beratur is located in the middle of a housing area in Taman Meranti Gombak. It’s unassuming like any other restaurant that serves breakfast, except for the legions of patrons dining at the eatery.
For those who love this kind of breakfast, you know that roti canai comes in various forms. Some places toss it thin to get that light and fluffy texture while others, like this restaurant serves it thick. Here it’s almost like a roti bom with layers of dough. However, although the roti is thick, it is still nice and crunchy on the outside.
This restaurant also serves a decent kari to go with your roti canai. The curry is sourish with bits and pieces of chicken in it.
Try too another local favourite, which is roti telur bawang. The egg and onions added more texture and richness to the roti for a more filling meal. I like that the egg is spread evenly in the roti, and that they are careful with the amount of onions they put in.
One thing worthy to note is that their roti canai is non greasy. It has just the right amount of oil or ghee to pan fry it to crispy perfection. Besides roti canai, the restaurant also sells nasi lemak but do come early, as the shop is sold out as early as 10am.
