Uncle Aru’s is the place to be if you want the best tandoori in town. Yes there are other places that serves it good too but there’s something about Uncle Aru’s recipe that just keeps us coming back. Remember order the juicy thighs…
” Tandoori here is so good, you’ll be back! ”
Around the Ampang area, if you are hankering for some tandoori, go to Uncle Aru’s. Now taken over by his son Ravi and renamed Tandoori Hut (why dude?) it’s still one of our favourite places to indulge the spicy, red chicken charred to succulent perfection and fluffy naans.
Tandoori paste here is massaged deep in the chicken and you get it hot and juicy to the table. Naans here soft and we recommend the butter version that melts in your mouth. Order up some keema or spinach, to balance out. Everything here is good lah.
According to legend, Uncle Aru learnt the art of making tandoori from a North Indian chef and he later trained other people to make it too. So you can say he’s a tandoori sifu lah. Now, he’s relaxing at home leaving the business to his son. One of our fondest memories of his is interviewing him, “Europeans, they like breasts, we prefer thighs…” he smiles. Yup we sure like them thighs Uncle!
Uncle Aru’s Succulent Tandoori Thighs is a MUST in Ampang
