Some of the best food in the world is on the street. If you don’t believe that…. means you don’t travel much. But take our lead when we say that Nasi Beriani Tajudin is one of the best street Biryani’s in KL. Not so heavy on the spices, simple taste with light fluffy rice… this Tamil Nadu recipe has a certain kind of street taste to it.. and with it; street cred.
When you come here, it’s the simple Nasi Biryani with Fried Chicken that you should go for, with half a Telur Masin (Salted Duck Egg) if you want.. or one hard boiled Egg.. or.. yeah.. can’t decide sometimes!
Rewinding into a bit of history, Tajudin started as a warung at a nearby Lorong Tikus and moved into the current premise sometime in 2013, to the joy of their customers who prefer better eating conditions and who lives in KL.
Fast forward back to current time. When entering the green sign-boarded shop, you will be greeted with trays after trays of lauks in display from Squid, Quails and a variety of Curries and Sambal. All for you to choose. Besides the Fried Chicken, the Mutton Biryani is also a great choice to go for. The Biryani guy… sometimes named Anuar is always on standby to take your order. When it comes down to the price, we say “Don’t worry about the price”, because it’s damn reasonable!
Tajudin’s Biryani has great flavours and is light enough so that you don’t really get sleepy after eating a full meal. We wonder if they double boil their rice, just like the Tamil Nadu Nasi Kandar people?
