Chef Rudi came up with the idea for Little Rara Thai Noodle House out of his passion for Thai Street Food. After making a name for himself in Malaysia’s F&B scene, he wanted to go back to his Thai roots by sharing his family’s recipes. His creations are unpretentious but with his customers in mind.
Expect Thai Street Food classics like Pad Thai (macam Thai version of Char Kuey Teow), Pad Krapow (the ever-famous Thai Basil Chicken) and even Chef Rudi’s own take of the Thai Boat Noodle that’s called Hot & Spicy Tom Yam Taley Noodle! It’s teeming with giant prawns, meaty mussels and topped off with some eggs making the tomyum broth richer. This is a must try! Paling best about Little Rara is that all the seafood are bought fresh daily from the nearest pasar. Best kan!
It’s only appropriate that I try the Pad Thai as well since it’s one Chef Rudi’s signature dishes. Again, portions are generous and everything is just super fresh from the greens to the seafood. It perfectly hits all the notes a Pad Thai should- salty, sweet and sour.
If you’re more of a rice kind of person, the Pad Krapow here will satisfy you like no other. The mince chicken is seasoned very well with a strong earthy flavour that you usually get when you use Thai Basil. Campur with a little bit of warm rice and telur goreng…mmm it is just too good!
If you must know, Little Rara has its own calling card macam Batman. Just follow the smell of grilled striploin that is made to order! It’s the perfect appetizer while you wait for your other dishes to arrive. However, I usually eat it with the other dishes together to make it more satisfying. Don’t forget to dip it in that special fiery sauce, terliur habis.
To end the meal, try out their simple but perfectly made Mango Sticky Rice. Warm and sticky topped with a healthy serving of sweet mango and doused with warm and creamy santan. Hilang semua rasa pedas tadi.
