Lubuk Bangku – A Great Hole for Daging Salai in Bangsar

Lubuk Bangku is named after a kampung in Payakumbuh, West Sumatera. Memang padan with the name because they make the best Minang and Negeri Sembilan food you can find in KL!

Macam Masakan Mak!

This place was started by Kak Ida and her family, she went back to her true love for cooking after working in the banking industry for 26 years. Hailing from Kuala Pilah herself, Kak Ida guna recipe turun temurun from her family but she adds a bit of twist to every dish to suit her style.

Tak sah coming to a Minang or Negeri Sembilan restaurant if it doesn’t make bomb Gulai Lemak Daging Salai. The key to Lubuk Bangku’s signature dish is the Daging Salai itself, they only make 40kg of it daily and it’s smoked for 2 hours. It goes perfectly with the Kuah masak lemak, the recipe is a family secret but what we can tell you is. You don’t have to go all the way to Negeri Sembilan after tasting the Gulai Lemak Here.

If you like Ayam Goreng, gotta get your hands on the Ayam Kampung Goreng here. It’s fried by batches throughout lunch time, so you’ll get to rasa how juicy and tender the meat is. Wajib makan as soon as you get it as it dries out pretty quickly.

The Sambal Terong Balado is Lubuk Bangku’s golden child. It’ll usually habis by 1pm, so you have to hurry and get it. Sambal and Terong combo makes it sweet and savoury at the same time, with a pedas and lemak end note. Paling best about this dish, its not oily at all. Not like most Sambal Terong Balado at other places.

Lubuk Bangku changes some of it’s lauk from day to day. Some of it is the Masak Lemak Labu and Telur Masak Kicap, once you guys dah try these two sampai termimpi-mimpi punya.
