If you’re a foodie then Mali’s Corner needs no introduction. Just drive up the steep hill to Taman Bunga Raya and your adventure begins. The first thing that will hit you is the smokey scent coming from the Char Kuey Teow Wok as it fires up pushing out orders…
” Extra Basah Please! ”
Apart from their extra BASAH Char Kuey Teow that’s teeming with prawns, Mali’s Corner is also famous for their Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng. With these two Malaysian favourites, Mali’s Corner single handedly won the hearts of college students and locals with it’s heavenly Malaysian grub.
First we attacked the Char Kuey Teow Special, the difference between Char Kuey Teow biasa and special is the amount of prawns they give you. If you order the Special, you’ll find 6 BIG prawns! It’s a bit too basah for my liking but it is as fresh as it gets, pretty much toss a little bit of everything in a smoking hot wok so every bite is packed with smokey goodness. We even paired it up with Sirap Bandung, “fuhhh memang layan”.
he Nasi Lemak Ayam here is definitely one of my favourites as well. Everything is well-balanced. Their rice is extremely lemak and so wangi, you can smell it from a mile away. You get a generous ladle of their sweet and spicy sambal on the side and to top it all off, the Ayam Goreng that’s freshly fried every 30 minutes or so. Make sure you get it while it’s steaming hot.
