In central Kuala Lumpur, tucked in at the alley of Jalan Doraisamy behind a well known Mamak shop, you’ll see a rustic and might I say ancient push cart bearing the name Sup Haji Abu. That my friends, is one of the hidden treasures of KL and you’re lucky to have found it.

If you’re a night owl and like to lepak or merayau all over KL then this place should be one of your pitstops, doling out one of the thickest and heartiest sup you can find in KL. Sup Haji Abu has been around since anyone could remember and it’s no surprise why.
Sup Haji Abu has a long list of sups in their menu, from the basic ayam, kambing to the more adventurous like burung puyuh, ekor and even torpedo “you know what this is right?”. So you gotta try at least one of everything, everytime you come through Sup Haji Abu.
Most of the items in the menu ran out by the time we got to Sup Haji Abu that evening but I managed to score my favourite which is Sup Kambing! The meat was braised gently in the herby broth that is chuck full of spices. Fuhhh! That first sip of sup will hit you in the face like a tight slap from your cikgu disiplin but it gets better and better as you go through it. If you wanna add more kick to the Sup, cicah with their Roti Bengali, perghh now that is the bee’s knees, puas gila.
