Many would agree that TTDI has one of the best urban markets in Klang Valley. It’s small and compact but easy to manoeuvre around. Things might be a little bit expensive here compared to other markets but it’s cleaner here and products are of good quality. A bonus is that upstairs there are some top eating spots.
Head to the top floor and look for Chanai and Chaya. The restaurant is as old as the market itself being one of the very few who stood the test of time. The Thosai and Apoms are made fresh upon order by the sweetest aunty who took over the business and recipes from her mother.
For lunch you can head over to Restoran Aleef Caterers which is a few shops beside Chanai and Chaya for the crowd favourite nasi campur.
On any given day, they have over 60 lauks to choose from. The winning dish is their asam pedas and fried chicken. We heard that the fried chicken recipe is a mix of a Caribbean and local recipe. The skin is crispy and the meat is juicy, and best yet, the price is here is reasonable.

Fancy something heftier for lunch? Cross the street towards Restoran Ismail for some Nasi Briyani.
The nasi briyani here is fragrant, soft and tender and the mutton just slips off the bone. Need I say more? Well try too the ayam madu and their murtabaks. This bustling place is an institution.

It’s teatime, and you craving for something to munch on, head over to Pisang Goreng Raja which is at the opposite of Starbucks.
Crunchy golden banana fritters here can be paired with an equally wicked sambal kicap. Besides pisang raja, they have other types of pisang to satisfy every pisang aficionado. There are also keropok lekor and cucur udang as well.

And how can we forget Pulut Kuning Kak Ana.
She sets up a small table in front of Guardian at Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi. Expect some great east coast dishes such as Nasi Dagang, or Nasi Kerabu but our favorite is definately her Pulut Kuning. The pulut is good on its own but you can you can opt to eat it with Kak Ana’s rendang daging.
If you want something more exquisite for tea, head over to the other side of town to Foo Foo Fine Desserts.
Here you can savor some fine desserts crafted by a dessert connoisseur. Expect favourites like Pavlova, Crème Brulee and many more. Each month they change a part of their menu to keep things fresh. We can’t get enough of their Creme Brulee, crunchy sweet caramel meets rich custard. At the end of each bite there is a hint of lemon to give a bit of zing to your every bite.

Once the sun begins to set, you can expect some great dinner places here in TTDI. In front of Lim Tayar, there are a few notable foodtrucks that set up there namely, La Famiglia, Cowboys Foodtruck and 2 Go Coffee (please check their social media before going, they sometimes are parked somewhere else), there is also a notable new stall that just set up shop a stone’s throw away which is Sixty Bites Burger.
This stall is your no frills one stop burger place. On menu is a Chezburger, a juicy homemade meat patty in Turkish buns with a ridiculously tasty onion jam. They also have Hail Caesar which is their chicken burger that comes with a special caeser mayo. Recently they introduced two new burgers, a Mexican that comes with spiced meat sauce on top and The Hannibal and succulent lamb burger that comes with grilled eggplants.

For a super sit-down dinner pop by Livello Uno. This little Italian eatery has been opened for a little over two years and serves up good, solid Italian grub.
The restaurant is set up by Chef Marshad and his sister Mutiara, who are half Italian. Chef Marshad has travel across the globe working in many notable restaurants before settling down back in Malaysia. Livello Uno offers variety of Itallian cuisine such as pasta, pizzas, and even gnocchi.
